The independent project Acapulco 62 began in February 2018, adopting the name of its first location in the Roma neighbourhood of Mexico City. Subsequently, in mid-2019, the gallery relocated to Dr. Atl Street in Santa María la Ribera, directly across from the emblematic Kiosko Morisco. In 2026, the gallery inaugurated a new space on James Sullivan Street, adjacent to Paseo de la Reforma and near the Jardín del Arte, integrating into the area’s cultural fabric and engaging in dialogue with its immediate artistic context.
Committed to a solid and eclectic program, the project has brought together artists from diverse generations and disciplines, encompassing posthumous homages, recent works by key contemporary artists, as well as emerging young artists.
Acapulco 62 believes that art should be available for everyone to experience and contemplate. This belief is reflected not only in our commitment to free public access, but also in the physical openness of our gallery, open to its surroundings, inviting passersby and visitors to encounter art naturally.
