Emilia González

Emilia Gonzaléz lives and works in London. Through sculpture and installation, she explores place, embodiment, and dislocation. By incorporating gesture and scent, she creates pieces that ask you to lean, touch and ingest, to activate and occupy them.
Emilia holds a Master of Fine Art from Goldsmiths, University of London and a Bachelors of Fine Art from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Selected residencies include: New York Studio Residency Program (Brooklyn, NY), The Center for Contemporary Art (Quito, Ecuador), and Suttle AIR (Sisters, OR). Her work has been exhibited internationally in venues including: Arte Actual (Quito, Ecuador), INDUSTRA (Brno, Czech Republic), N.A.S.A.L. (Mexico City, Mexico), SOIL (Seattle, WA), The Royal Watercolour Society (London, UK), Copeland Gallery (London, UK), Bermondsey Project Space (London, UK), Hypha Studios (London, UK), Center for Contemporary Art (Quito, Ecuador), AICAD (Brooklyn, NY), Media Agua (Quito, Ecuador), Sullivan Galleries (Chicago, IL), amongst others. Emilia is an elected member of The London Group, the UK’s longest-running artists’ collective and has been awarded the Vic Muller Award for Innovation and a Freelands Foundation Artists’ Bursary.
